News media disappointed President not more of a tyrant.
The concept of the first hundred days was created to describe the unprecedented power grab that happened during the first term of President Frank Roosevelt. During his first hundred days FDR created several government agencies, some that competed with private businesses, confiscated huge amounts of private gold, and attempted to intimidate the supreme court. In spite of all of this, the Great Depression continued. President Don Trump, without a great depression of his own, has barely managed to oppress anyone. His Attorney General has threatened to crack down on pot smokers at a time when the United States has the largest prison population in the world; but aside from that, and his feckless attempts to prevent people from coming to the United States, President Trump continues to struggle to consolidate power in any kind of Washington cabal.
